most majestic sites. The Three Gorges characterized by steep mountains,
rugged shoals, the vertical cliffs and grotesque peaks with clouds

Day
01: Guangzhou
Arrive
in Guangzhou by air, then transfer to Zhouyou Hotel or similar.
Known as the City of Goats, it is the capital of Guangdong province
and the southern gateway to China. It is an important commercial
centre, with its port, Huangpu being major foreign trading port
at southern China in close proximity to Hong Kong and Macao.
Day 02: Guangzhou
Spend your day at your own pace to explore Guangzhou. Guangzhou
the southern gateway to China is famous for its diversity in Chinese
cuisines and also its pleasant tropical parks and tree-shaded
streets. (B)
OPTIONAL: Tour
around Guangzhou for a day, visiting its main attractions: The
Chen Chamber which is a representative work of art focused on
the traditional architecture of the ancient Guangdong and Guangxi
regions. Also discover Dr. Sun Yat-Sen's Memorial Hall famous
for its octagonal structure and then unveil down town Guangzhou.

Day 03: Guangzhou
- Chongqing
Depart Guangzhou and fly to Chongqing (approximate 2 hours). Transfer
to the Chongqing Hotel or similar hotel on arrival. Renowned for
its beauty at night Chongqing is where the Yangtze and Jialing
rivers meet. After lunch tour around down town Chongqing and also
visit Erling Park. (B/L)
Day 04: Cruise
to Three Gorges of Yangtze River
Board cruise to Three Gorges of Yangtze River. Today the cruise
will pass through the Pearl of the Yangtze River - Shibao Village,
Wanxian Town and Zhangfei Temple. (B/L/D)
Day 05: Cruising
through Three Gorges
Continue cruising down the Yangtze River to uncover the Xiling
Gorge, Qutang Gorge and the Wuxia Gorge. (B/L/D)
Day 06: Three
Gorges - Yichang
Continue cruising down the mighty Yangtze viewing some of China's
most breathtaking landscapes. Arrive in Yichang late afternoon.
Transfer to the Three Gorges Hotel or similar hotel. (B/L)
Day 07: Yichang
Half Day tour to the Gezhouba Project, the first large water conservation
and hydropower project on China's Changjiang (Yangze) River. It
consists of ship locks, power stations, a spillway and scouring
slices, etc. Leisure time for personal sightseeing. Board overnight
train (approximately 16 hours) with first class soft sleeping
- bed to Xi'an, which
was one of the most important cradles of Chinese civilization.
It marked the start of the famous Silk Road that linked China
with central Asia and the Roman Empire. It also served as the
first capital of a unified China and the capital of 11 dynasties
periodically from the 11th century B.C. to the early 10th century
A.D. Xi'ann, covering 880 square miles and with a population of
2,915,000 still contains a host of historical sites. (B/L)
Day 08:
Xi'an
Arrive in Xi'an early morning. Transfer to the Bell Tower Hotel
or similar on arrival. Visit Terracotta Warriors and Horses where
more than 7,000 life sized terracotta warriors and horses have
been unearthed near the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang. Encounter
the Banpo Museum filled with artifacts from approximately 6,000
years ago, from a matriarchal commune of the Yellow River region.

09: Xi'an
Leisure time to explore Xi'an's many historical sites. Known as
the city of "Everlasting Peace" Xi'an is one of the
most important cradles of Chinese civilization and marks the start
of the famous "Silk Road." (B)
OPTIONAL: Tour
to the City Wall, China's only well preserved large-scale city
wall surrounded by moats. Visit the Big Wild-Goose Pagoda, which
was first built in the Tang Dynasty; it is the symbol of Xi'an.
